Shine a light on our region’s best during National Volunteer Week
Gladstone Regional Council (GRC) is proud to recognise and celebrate the contributions that volunteers make in our community.
Whether through involvement at local sporting clubs each weekend or providing support services to those in our community in need, all volunteers make a difference in our community and are worthy of recognition during National Volunteer Week – Australia’s largest annual celebration of volunteers.
National Volunteer Week will be celebrated from Monday 20 May until Sunday 26 May.
This year’s theme is Something for Everyone, recognising the diverse passions and talents everyone brings to the act of volunteering, while providing an invitation to explore the myriad of opportunities available within the volunteering sector.
Mayor Matt Burnett is encouraging community members to nominate volunteers who strive to make the Gladstone Region the best place it can be.
“We want to celebrate and thank our volunteers for what they do every day,” Cr Burnett said.
“To do this, nominate yourself or a volunteer for their commitment to our community.
“Nominations open on Monday 4 March via Gladstone Regional Council’s Conversations website and will close on Tuesday 2 April.
“All nominees will receive a certificate and an invitation to attend a National Volunteer Week Breakfast of Champions hosted by GRC to acknowledge their commitment to giving back to our region.”
Breakfast of Champions will be held in Gladstone, Calliope and Agnes Water during National Volunteer Week.
