Caravan Parks and Camping Grounds
Gladstone Regional Council adopted new local laws for commencement on 16 December 2016. As part of these local laws Caravan Park's are no longer required to hold an approval to operate. However all Caravan Parks are required to comply with a set of minimum standards outlined in Subordinate Local Law no 1.8 (Operation of Caravan Parks) 2016.
Camping Grounds are required to hold an approval to operate, Subordinate Local Law no 1.6 (Operation of Camping Grounds) 2011 outlines what the application must include and what general conditions may apply.
It is important to note that when apply to operate as a Camping Ground or Caravan Park all applicable Council Development and Planning approvals must be completed first, this above licences applies to all forms under the Planning Scheme including Nature Based Tourism, Resort Parks etc.
If you cannot meet these minimum standards you will be required to hold an approval to operate. To transfer an existing licence or to request an amendment complete the application form and return to Council together with any fees and relevant documents.
