Water restrictions lifted in Miriam Vale
Gladstone Regional Council is pleased to announce that water restrictions have now been lifted in Miriam Vale, effective immediately.
The Gladstone Regional Council Drought Management Team made the decision to lift water restrictions following recent rainfall that led to an increase in the water level to Baffle Creek, Miriam Vale’s primary water source.
The creek level is now sitting above the trigger levels for any restrictions.
Gladstone Region Acting Mayor Kahn Goodluck thanked the Miriam Vale community for quickly responding to 180 Litres per person per day water restrictions implemented on 6 December 2023.
“While we are very pleased to lift the water restrictions, we are still asking residents to be mindful of their consumption because every drop counts,” Councillor Goodluck said.
“I want to offer a big thank you to the Miriam Vale community for working together with Council throughout this recent period of water restrictions.”
Cr Goodluck added that Miriam Vale residents who recently had advanced water meter infrastructure installed are encouraged to sign up to My Water.
“My Water is a fantastic resource to access your near real-time water usage,” he said.
“Council’s website also has some handy water saving tips that can be applied during times of both low and above-average rainfall.”
