Groups encouraged to check details in Community Services Directory
Not-for-profit sporting clubs, organisations and recreation groups in the Gladstone Region are being encouraged to hop online and update their details in Council’s Community Services Directory.
The Community Services Directory details and lists a service overview and contact details for a broad range of general community services, special interest, sporting and recreation groups, including health and support services for all ages.
Gladstone Region Councillor Rick Hansen said now is the perfect time for clubs and organisations to check if their details are up to date before the year gets into full swing.
“This is particularly important for sporting clubs as the sign-on days for many traditional winter sports are right around the corner,” Councillor Hansen said.
“I really encourage clubs to revisit their Community Services Directory entry to make sure all information is current because I’d hate to see a sporting club miss out on signing an unearthed talent simply because their contact details weren’t up to date.”
Cr Hansen added that it is not just not-for-profit sporting clubs who can benefit from checking their details are accurate.
“The Community Services Directory also has handy information for youth and senior services, children’s services, health services, disability services, housing and accommodation, halls and facilities, special interest and recreation, crisis and emergency support, cultural diversity services and general community services,” he said.
“There is also a new website address for the Community Services Directory so make sure to save it in your favourites.”
