Update to temporary kayak and watercraft storage area at Seventeen Seventy
Gladstone Regional Council has reduced the environmental footprint of its temporary kayak and watercraft storage area at Seventeen Seventy for conservation and safety purposes.
The temporary storage area is located on the grassed foreshore along Captain Cook Drive close to Air Sea Rescue Park and the 1770 Beach Hotel (The Tree Bar).
Kayaks and watercraft must be stored in a manner that does not pose a trip or safety hazard to users of the area.
Items found outside the storage area after 11 September will be considered ‘abandoned’ and Council will progress removal.
The temporary storage area is provided by Council for the convenience of owners for the temporary storage of light watercraft. Storage is at the sole risk of the owner and Council accepts no liability or responsibility for loss, damage, or theft.
Council remains committed to working with the Seventeen Seventy community to ensure their connection to the water continues to thrive into the future in a way that is neither detrimental to the environment, nor poses a safety risk to other beach users.
