Update on bridge repair work at Tom Jeffery Memorial Park, Agnes Water
Work is underway at the northern side of Tom Jeffery Memorial Park, Agnes Water to create a corridor so Council can safely remove the bridge for off-site repair.
This work will involve the removal of vegetation and requires heavy pruning of tree canopies and removal of three trees within the park.
Vegetation will only be removed where necessary to provide a clear path for bridge removal.
This work will assist in preventing damage throughout the park and help to ensure the safety of workers when the bridge removal occurs, at a later date.
As part of Council’s Environment Policy, in undertaking the removal of trees, new trees will be planted this financial year in the Agnes Water area.
While work on the corridor occurs, visitors to the park can still access public amenities and the temporary beach access.
However, Council asks park users to please be mindful of works in the area and follow directions and signage.
Council will provide further information prior to bridge removal works.
