Alternate access to Agnes Water Main Beach established due to bridge repair
Gladstone Regional Council has established temporary pedestrian access from Tom Jeffery Memorial Park to Agnes Water Main Beach following the recent closure of the bridge linking the two areas.
During a recent weather event, flood water forces and stormwater have undermined the central footing which has led to sagging of the structure.
The bridge was deemed unsafe and closed off to the public on 16 May.
Signage is in place directing beach visitors to use the temporary pedestrian access while our teams are engaged in the investigation and design of a permanent solution.
