Individuals and organisations invited to attend free workshop
Council invites individuals and organisations from across the region to a free Introduction to Participatory Community Building workshop at the Philip Street Communities and Families Precinct.
The workshop is a collaboration between Gladstone Regional Council (GRC) and the Jeder Institute and will be held across two days (6-7 May) with the option to attend one or both days.
Collectively, GRC and the Jeder Institute will work to give you the tools to co-create projects that will leave you with practical skills on how to:
- Build effective partnership strategies
- Increase confidence in hosting group work
- Form powerful enquiries and proposals
- Explore group dynamics and decision-making.
Gladstone Region Acting Mayor Kahn Goodluck said the workshop has the potential to benefit many people and organisations.
“Community organisations, clubs, informal groups and individuals who are interested in learning more about strength-based approaches and Asset Based Community Development are encouraged to attend,” Councillor Goodluck said.
“The focus of this workshop is to learn how to blend Asset Based Community Development with a range of powerful approaches to community work and methods to create positive outcomes.”
Training will be delivered by Michelle Dunscombe and Dee Brookes from the Jeder Institute, who both have extensive experience in their field.
