Council following Queensland Health advice regarding Covid-19 outbreak in Greater Brisbane
Gladstone Regional Council is following advice from Queensland Health and the Chief Health Officer (CHO) regarding the current COVID-19 outbreak in Greater Brisbane.
This morning it was announced that Greater Brisbane, including the local government areas of Brisbane, Ipswich, Moreton Bay, Logan and Redlands would go into a three-day lockdown from 5pm today.
The lockdown is in response to four confirmed cases of community transmission in Brisbane.
One of the four confirmed cases visited Gladstone between 25-27 March.
This person visited the following venues:
- 25 March – Gin Gin Bakery 1.26pm-1.33pm
- 25 March – Miriam Vale Roadhouse and Caravan Park 2.35pm-2.45pm
- 26 March – Spinnaker Park Café 10.22am-11.23am
- 26 March – Coles Stockland Gladstone 12.09pm-12.33pm
- 26 March – BWS Stockland Gladstone 4.46pm-5pm
- 26 March – Auckland House 7.23pm-9.30pm
- 27 March – Auckland House 7.33am-8.20am.
Anyone who has attended these venues on the above dates is being advised to get tested immediately.
Gladstone’s COVID-19 testing facility is located at Gladstone Hospital.
Primary close contacts of the infected person have been contacted, tested and returned negative results.
At this stage Queensland Health has not enforced a three-day lockdown on Gladstone or the Gladstone Region.
Council is advising the community who have visited Brisbane since 20 March to adhere to lockdown restrictions as per Queensland Health advice.
Council employees have been advised to wear masks in indoor public spaces where social distancing is not possible.
