Council-owned swimming pools to close until further notice
Gladstone Regional Council wishes to advise the Gladstone Aquatic Centre and Mount Larcom
swimming pools will close until further notice.
Operated by BlueFit Group, both pools will cease operating from close of business today (20 March) as a proactive measure against the ongoing Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) situation.
BlueFit Group CEO Todd McHardy said the closure was made with the safety of staff and patrons in mind, and that concessions would apply for current swim program enrolments and visit passes.
“If your child is currently enrolled in the learn to swim program, you will not be charged for lessons during the closure,” Mr McHardy said.
“Your spot in the program will remain secure for the reopening of the facility and we will communicate with you along the way.
“Credits will be applied for this week's lessons paid for in advance.
“For those with visit passes, we are extending the expiry date of your passes by one year so you can use the remaining visits when the facilities reopen.
“Annual passes will move to a free suspension period for the duration of the closure.
“BlueFit would like to thank our patrons and staff who have been extraordinary through this summer and we hope to see you again soon.”
Mr McHardy said all event bookings paid for in advance will be refunded.
