Update on repair of Tom Jeffery Memorial Park bridge
The bridge at Tom Jeffery Memorial Park, Agnes Water is currently undergoing off-site repair with the replacement of timber and upgrading of metal components.
Procurement of precast concrete piles is also underway in readiness for on-site installation later, with a tender for the installation of the piles and headstock recently open for this work.
The tender evaluation process and contracting for on-site work is expected to be finalised by mid to late November.
Unfortunately, efforts to have bridge works completed prior to the summer school holidays will not be achievable, so to reduce tourism and economic impacts, on-site project work will recommence from early February 2023.
This work is expected to be completed by late March 2023, dependent on contractor availability, supply of materials and weather conditions.
While bridge repairs are underway, Council is continuing to maintain the pedestrian access from Tom Jeffery Memorial Park to Agnes Water Main Beach.
Council appreciates the understanding of residents and tourists while we work to reconnect them to the beach.
