Refreshed Community Investment Program to support community led ideas
Gladstone Regional Council will host a series of roadshows aiming to inform the community about funding options available through its refreshed Community Investment Program.
The Community Investment Roadshow will commence on 7 October and run until 21 October, visiting eight locations across the Gladstone Region.
Changes to the Community Investment Program umbrella include new Grassroots Fund, Community Hall Fund, Strategic Projects Fund, Charity Waste Fund, Gladstone and District Sports Foundation Fund and Community Led Investment Fund.
The changes to the Community Investment Program are based on feedback from the community and are aligned to both Council’s COVID-19 Recovery Plan and Community Development Strategy action plan.
Gladstone Region Mayor Matt Burnett said the changes to the Community Investment Program made sure the program and policy is equipped to support recovery initiatives along with supporting the community in the most relevant way.
“The refreshed Community Investment Program increases visibility and access to financial and inkind support for eligible organisations and community groups while continuing to provide tangible and measurable benefits to Council and the community,” Councillor Burnett said.
“The program supports community education, events, connection, inclusion and regional enhancement.
Anyone from local sporting and recreation clubs, schools, charities, event organisers and arts and cultural organisations could be eligible for funding.”
Council’s team will be available at the roadshows to answer questions and provide information on funding options and guidelines, eligibility requirements and discuss how to register and access Council’s online grant application system.
