Workshop for Early Childhood Educators
Birdie’s Tree is recognised as the world-leading suite of resources and programs to support the mental health and social emotional wellbeing of babies and young children, their families and communities, through natural disasters (such as floods and fires) and disruptive events.
Birdie’s Tree includes an award-winning set of storybooks, videos and resources created by the Queensland Centre for Perinatal and Infant Mental Health (QCPIMH).
Birdie’s Tree is useful in the preparedness, response and recovery phases of a natural disaster or disruptive event. In schools, Birdie’s Tree resources are designed for students in Prep to Year 3, although older students also benefit.
Birdie’s Tree Universal Resources Training is delivered through a 60–90-minute online workshop stepping through the resources and brainstorming how to use them in classroom contexts.
Each Educator will receive a complimentary Birdie’s Tree Universal Resources Pack which includes storybooks, animations, e-books, hand puppets and comfort toys, and more!
This Gladstone Regional Council initiative is jointly funded under the Commonwealth / State Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements.
