Nominations are open for 2025 Gladstone Region Australia Day Awards
Do you know an individual, community group or organisation making positive contributions to our community? If so, consider nominating them for a 2025 Gladstone Region Australia Day Award.
Nominations opened at 8am Tuesday 8 October and will remain open until 4pm on Friday 8 November.
Gladstone Region Mayor Matt Burnett said nominating someone is easy and takes no more than five minutes.
“Nominations can be made online via Council’s Conversations platform with seven award categories to choose from,” Councillor Burnett said.
“Anyone can be nominated for an award, from our everyday heroes to our quiet achievers.
“This is a fantastic opportunity to recognise and celebrate those in the community who strive to make our region a better place.”
Award Categories
- Citizen of the Year
- Young Citizen of the Year Award
- Sport and Recreation Award
- Young Peoples Sport and Recreation Award
- Arts and Culture Award
- Community Event Award
- Community Volunteer Award
How to nominate someone?
Before beginning the nomination process, you will need the following:
- Nominee name and contact details
- A brief explanation (no more than 300 words) detailing the following:
- Examples of their positive contribution to the Gladstone Region
- Specific examples of their positive contribution to their chosen area/s or role/s and its broader impact
- The dates of service/period of time (if known).
Winners will be announced at Council’s Gladstone Region Australia Day Awards ceremony at Gladstone Entertainment Convention Centre on Saturday, 25 January 2025, 5pm to 8.30pm.
