Rate subsidy available for Gladstone Region pensioners
Gladstone Region ratepayers who have recently become eligible for the pension are encouraged to apply for Gladstone Regional Council’s 2024/25 Pensioner Concession.
Council currently provides a maximum concession of $310 for eligible pensioners.
This is in addition to the Queensland Government who provide pensioner concession recipients with a maximum subsidy of $200 per annum and a 20 per cent rebate on the State Emergency Management Levy.
To be eligible for Council’s Pensioner Concession, a person must hold one of the following concession cards:
- Queensland Pensioner Concession Card (issued by Centrelink or Department of Veterans’ Affairs) OR
- Department of Veterans’ Affairs Gold Card
And
- Be the owner occupier or life tenant of a property in the Gladstone Region
- Be solely or jointly liable for the payment of Council rates and charges levied on that property
- The subject property must be an approved dwelling.

Ratepayers can expect to receive their rates notice in August 2024.
