Council providing assistance to bushfire affected residents
Gladstone Regional Council has established a place of refuge at Miriam Vale Community Centre for residents affected by bushfire in the Deepwater, Baffle Creek and Oyster Creek areas.
The Miriam Vale Community Centre is located at 41 Blomfield Street, Miriam Vale.
Residents should continue to follow the advice of Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES) and be aware that multiple warnings are currently in place for the Deepwater area.
Council is encouraging affected residents to register via the Australian Red Cross Register. Find. Reunite website – this can be done by visiting https://register.redcross.org.au and clicking on ‘Bushfire in Deepwater, Queensland’.
