Make your home renovations less stressful with development fact sheets
Gladstone Regional Council has produced a series of development fact sheets to assist residents in navigating their way around State and Local Government compliance policies.
The fact sheets are designed to guide residents through buying, renovating and upgrading their home and property.
Fact sheets are available on:
- Swimming pools and spas
- Fences and retaining walls
- Driveways
- Septic tanks and on-site sewerage
- Rates, water and development searches
- Zones and overlays
- Shed, carports and shipping containers
- Home-based businesses
- Advertising devices
- Roles and responsibilities.
Gladstone Region Councillor Chris Cameron said development rules and requirements can often be difficult to understand.
“That’s why we’ve simplified the information to help make it easier for residents,” Councillor Cameron said.
“These easy to follow guides provide residents with important information to help them get started on home improvements, additions, extensions or renovations, and what steps you need to take to before you start.
“The guides will also make sure your project is compliant with building, plumbing and development regulations.”
Council has produced these development fact sheets courtesy of funding from the Queensland Government through the Department of State Development, Manufacturing, Infrastructure and Planning.
