Rates benefits available for Gladstone Region pensioners
Ratepayers, who have recently been granted the pension, are encouraged to apply for Gladstone Regional Council’s 2021/22 Pensioner Concession.
The concession has been increased since the 2020/21 financial year and provides a maximum amount of $310 per annum for eligible pensioners.
Gladstone Region Mayor Matt Burnett said the Queensland Government also provided Pensioner Concession recipients with a maximum subsidy of $200 per annum and a 20 per cent rebate on the State Emergency Management Levy.
“Council’s Pensioner Concession and the Queensland Government Pensioner Rate Subsidy Scheme greatly assist pensioners,” Councillor Burnett said.
“Council recognises the unique needs of pensioners who want to continue to be independent and live in their own home and the concession is provided to encourage pensioners to do this where possible.”
