Glow beyond your imagination and experience the excitement of Luminous
This winter, take a walk on the bright side and head to Tondoon Botanic Gardens as one of Gladstone’s favourite events, Luminous lights up across three magical nights in July.
The multi award-winning Luminous is a mesmerising visual event featuring impressive lighting displays, illuminated art, live music, roving entertainment, delicious treats, workshops, children’s activities and more.
Gladstone Region Mayor Matt Burnett said Luminous will feature new installations to excite and entertain people of all ages.
“Explore hidden areas of the Gardens while being surrounded by more than 20,000 LED lights and illuminated art on display as part of the LuminART Awards,” Councillor Burnett said.
“New features this year include Luminous Roots: A Symphony of Light and Sound, an illuminated maze, Neon Forest, and Habitat, which is a custom designed installation with a focus on discovery.”
Luminous can be enjoyed by people of all ages with two different viewing experiences available – free entry on either Friday 12 July or Saturday 13 July, or via an exclusive ticketed evening on Sunday 14 July that will feature less crowds, reduced traffic and easier parking.
Tickets for our exclusive Sunday experience are now on sale and must be pre-purchased via the GECC website or Box Office as entry will not be permitted at the gate without a ticket.
Meanwhile, the LuminART Awards will offer artists the unique opportunity to display their work at Luminous, with prize money on offer.
Works must glow or be illuminated to qualify for LuminART Awards. Registrations close Friday 28 June with intake on 5-6 July. Full details, including competition terms and conditions, are available on the Conversations website.
