Council to host information session for prospective Apprentices and Trainees
Council is offering a wide variety of diverse roles as part of its 2025 Apprenticeship and Traineeship Program with an opportunity to learn more at an upcoming Information Session.
Gladstone Region Mayor Matt Burnett said Council will host an Information Session about the program between 4.30pm-6pm on Wednesday 19 June at Philip Street Communities and Families Precinct (Maxine Brushe Building) prior to applications opening from Monday 1 July until Friday 19 July.
“The information session is a fantastic opportunity to learn about the recruitment process and speak to Council leaders and current trainees about the 2025 Apprenticeship and Traineeship Program,” Councillor Burnett said.
“The 2025 Apprenticeship and Traineeship Program supports a variety of roles including plumbing, waste, events, business administration, ICT and more.
“I’m also excited to share that for the first time Council will offer two First Nations Fire Trainee positions within the 2025 intake.”
There is a multitude of diverse apprenticeship and traineeship opportunities in 2025, including:
- Apprentice Nursery Gardener
- Apprentice Botanic Gardener
- Apprentice Electrician
- Apprentice Plumber (x 2)
- Business Administration Trainee (x 6)
- Community Services Trainee
- Designer Cadet
- Event Trainee
- First Nations Fire Trainee (x 2)
- ICT Trainee (x 2)
- Live Production Trainee
- Process Operator Trainee
- Waste Management Trainee
- Workplace Health and Safety Trainee.
Successful candidates will be provided on-the-job training and support to develop their employability skills, knowledge and experience with roles to commence in January 2025.
Registrations for the Information Session are due by Sunday 16 June.
