Artistic beauty is in the eye of the voter at QAL People’s Choice Awards
The 48th Rio Tinto & QAL Martin Hanson Memorial Art Awards presentation has wrapped up for another year but there is still plenty of time to have your say and vote in the QAL People’s Choice Awards.
Formed in 2014, the QAL People’s Choice Awards allows members of the public to vote for their favourite artwork in each of the four categories of the Awards – Easel Paintings, Works on Paper, Three Dimensional and Fibre Works, and Digital Works.
Everyone who votes in the QAL People’s Choice Awards will go into the draw to win a $1000 travel gift voucher redeemable at Helloworld Travel, while section winners as voted by the public will receive $500 each.
Gladstone Region Mayor Matt Burnett said voting in the QAL People’s Choice Awards is open until 2pm on Saturday, 20 January 2024 and must be done in person at Gladstone Regional Art Gallery & Museum (GRAGM).
“The voting process is simple – attend GRAGM, scan the QR code and enter your details, or enter your details directly into the QAL People’s Choice Awards voting kiosk and then choose your favourite artwork in each section,” Councillor Burnett said.
“With a record 272 entries this year, I encourage everyone to take their time to absorb all the fantastic works on display and vote for what they believe is the best.
“Art can be very subjective and that’s one of the great things about voting in the QAL People’s Choice Awards.”
Winners of the 2023 QAL People’s Choice Awards will be announced on Saturday, 27 January 2024.
