Unique opportunity to perform in First Nations choir at Christmas Carols
An opportunity to participate in a free professional development workshop and perform in a First Nations choir at the 2023 Santos GLNG Mayor’s Christmas Carols is currently available.
Award-winning First Nations entertainer Marcus Corowa will host a free workshop at the Gladstone Entertainment Convention Centre on Friday 27 October from 2pm to 4pm.
From this workshop, Marcus will curate a First Nations Choir to perform alongside him at the Mayor’s Christmas Carols on Friday 1 December 2023.
Gladstone Region Mayor Matt Burnett said Marcus is an established and devoted mentor and leader, drawing on the pride of his Aboriginal and South Sea Islander heritage.
“This is a fantastic opportunity for local First Nations people to perform at the Mayor’s Christmas Carols,” Councillor Burnett said.
“Marcus is no stranger to Christmas events having performed at the 2021 Brisbane Lord Mayor’s Christmas Carols and is also a regular guest vocalist and festival headliner who has performed alongside some of Australia’s top musical talents.”
If you are interested in attending the development workshop on Friday 27 October and performing with Marcus at the Santos GLNG Mayor’s Christmas Carols on Friday 1 December 2023, please contact the Gladstone Entertainment Convention Centre on 4972 2822 or email geccrsvp@gladstone.qld.gov.au for more information.
