Double the fun as iconic Christmas events to merge in 2023
Two iconic Christmas events will merge this year to create one larger event at the GPC Marina Parklands.
From this year, residents will be able to enjoy the Christmas Street Party and the Santos GLNG Mayor’s Christmas Carols (presented by 4CC) in one event to be held on Friday 1 December from 5pm-9pm.
Gladstone Region Mayor Matt Burnett said the Mayor’s Carols and the Christmas Street Party have traditionally been held on the first Friday night and first Sunday night in December.
“Moving forward we are combining these events in the one location with everyone’s favourites to remain including the carols, roving entertainment, food vendors and fireworks, while the lighting of the Christmas tree in Goondoon Street will take place via a live stream from Library Square,” Councillor Burnett said.
“I’m also excited to announce that former Hi-5 member Charli Robinson will return to the stage after performing here last year, while award-winning First Nations entertainer Marcus Corowa will mentor a First Nations choir who will perform on the night.”
