One of the most anticipated events of the year is fast approaching

One of the Gladstone Region’s most popular events, Luminous, is set to wow audiences across three magical nights when it lights up Tondoon Botanic Gardens in a kaleidoscope of colour from 14-16 July.

Luminous is a multi-award winning and visually mesmerising event featuring impressive lighting displays, illuminated art, live music, roving entertainment, workshops, children’s activities and much more.

And this year, we are offering two different viewing experiences for the community.

Beginning on Thursday 14 July, attendees can be the first to see Luminous in all its glory with less crowds, reduced traffic and easier parking.

These tickets are limited and must be pre-purchased from as ticket purchases will not be permitted at the gate. Tickets go on sale from 9am, Tuesday 24 May.

Entry for Friday 15 July and Saturday 16 July will be gold coin on entry with no pre-purchasing of tickets required.

Gladstone Region Acting Mayor Kahn Goodluck said the Thursday night Luminous celebration will offer an exclusive sneak peek ahead of the main event on Friday and Saturday.

“Luminous saw 26,000 people come through the gates of Tondoon Botanic Gardens across two nights in 2021,” Councillor Goodluck said.

“This year we are offering early access on Thursday night to provide a more intimate experience with a reduced crowd but all the lights.

“Free parking will be available across all three nights at both the Meteors car park on Glenlyon Road and at the industry car park on Bailiff Road, with a free bus operating on Friday and Saturday nights only.”

Originating in 2018, Luminous was created to celebrate the Tondoon Botanic Gardens’ 30th birthday and the overwhelming community response cemented it as an annual event for the Gladstone Region.

Luminous has attracted glowing reviews and won the 2020 Event of the Year Award at the Parks and Leisure Australia Queensland Awards.
