All invited to attend premiere of the Our Priceless Past Short Film Series
Gladstone residents and the wider community are invited to join Gladstone Region Councillors and guest speakers for the red-carpet premiere event of the 2021 Our Priceless Past Short Film Series.
The event will be held at the Gladstone Entertainment Convention Centre (GECC) from 2.30pm on Wednesday 4 May.
One of the most anticipated Gladstone Regional Art Gallery & Museum community projects each year, Our Priceless Past brings together two very different generations to celebrate the unique character of the Gladstone Region.
Initiated in 1999, in conjunction with the Year of the Older Person, the project collects valuable material for the community’s social history collection.
In 2021, local seniors worked with selected then Year 8 students of Toolooa State High School, writing 10 diverse stories about those who have helped shaped the place in which we live.
Responding to the students’ 2021 stories local filmmakers, Katrina Elliott, Wezzy Cruze and Photopia Studio, as well as First Nations filmmaker Kaylene Butler have created the first Our Priceless Past series of short films.
To assist with travel to the premiere event, FREE shuttle services are being offered across the region, including stops at Rosedale, Agnes Water, Miriam Vale, Boyne Island, Calliope, Mount Larcom, Raglan and Yarwun.
Light hospitality will be provided at the GECC from 2pm for the special occasion. Visit https://gragm.qld.gov.au/programs-events to book your FREE tickets and reserve your bus seats.
