Get moving into GRAGM with popular children’s exhibition to launch
Planes, trains and automobiles – all manner of transport is the theme of On the Move, a new interactive children’s exhibition that will soon be on display at Gladstone Regional Art Gallery & Museum.
On the Move explores transport in all its forms and takes visitors on a journey around Australia, discovering fascinating facts about different modes of transport and vehicles along the way.
Created by Sydney Living Museums in collaboration with illustrator James Gulliver Hancock, On the Move is a highly engaging exhibition that offers hands-on discovery of incredible journeys, unique inventions, amazing vehicles and intrepid explorers across the country.
Gladstone Region Deputy Mayor Kahn Goodluck said On the Move will launch on Saturday 19 February and exhibit until Saturday 11 June.
“GRAGM will celebrate the opening of On the Move by hosting a Family Fun Day on 19 February from 10am until 2pm,” Councillor Goodluck said.
“There will be face painting, a sausage sizzle, an ice cream van and other games and activities suitable for primary school children to participate in, plus the Deja Brew Coffee Nook located inside Gladstone Mindcare will also be open.
“However, the main attraction is inside GRAGM where On the Move will be set up inside the O’Connell Gallery.
“It’s here where children will be able to discover how transportation works in busy cities and how fuel choices made can have a positive impact on the environment.
“They can also develop their own fantasy trip, fuel up at the servo, craft their dream machine and build a vehicle for the future from LEGO® and test it on a futuristic city track.”
