Two weeks to go! Gladstone Regional Council’s spectacular lighting event, Luminous, is ready to impress with plans to make the upcoming second event even more memorable than the first.
Gladstone Region Acting Mayor Chris Trevor said Luminous had attracted glowing reviews from the community following its debut in the Gladstone Region in October last year.
“More than 8000 people gathered in the Gladstone Tondoon Botanic Gardens for the 2018 inaugural event with the Gardens transformed into an amazing landscape of light and art,” Councillor Trevor said.
“Following on from that success, Luminous will be held over two nights this year, again lighting up our amazing Gardens from 5.30pm-9pm on 13-14 July.”
Cr Trevor said with large crowds expected more food stalls would be on offer and more lighting displays would make their first appearance in the Gladstone Region.
“There will be completely different displays to what was on show at Luminous 2018 with a large variety of lights powered by solar power or generators,” Cr Trevor said.
“There are sure to be many crowd-pleasers with fantastic displays to leave residents of all ages awe-struck.”
Cr Trevor said lots of surprises would be in store for those attending Luminous with Light Chimes and Morphology displays expected to draw great interest.
The Jesse Morris Band will perform on the main stage on both nights, as well as a range of performers yet to be finalised.
Entry is just a gold coin.
