Celebrate the festive season with Council’s free Christmas Street Party
Gladstone Regional Council’s Christmas Street Party is returning in 2021 with plenty to do, see, taste and hear as the city’s heart comes alive to mark the start of the festive season.
This free community event will be held on Sunday 5 December from 4pm-8pm and celebrates the lighting of the City’s Christmas Tree in Library Square, with other festivities also taking place in the Goondoon Street Entertainment Precinct.
The 2021 Christmas Street Party will have all the usual favourites such as market and food stalls, roving entertainment, children’s activities including face painting and crafts, the annual dance parade and of course an appearance by Santa.
Gladstone Region Mayor Matt Burnett said Council’s Christmas Street Party is the perfect event for the whole family.
“Come along and have some fun experiencing all the different forms of entertainment on offer,” Councillor Burnett said.
“For many people, the highlight of the evening will be the lighting of the region’s largest Christmas tree at 7pm.
“The nine-metre tree sits on the edge of Library Square and provides an eye-catching focal point for visitors to the Goondoon Street Entertainment Precinct.”
A temporary closure of Goondoon Street, from Roseberry to Yarroon Streets, will be in place from 7am-10pm for the event.
