Free workshop with one of Australia’s leading circus companies
If you have ever thought about joining the circus – then here is your chance!
Wolfgang’s Magical Musical Circus, run by Circa, is coming to the Gladstone Region with a performance at the Gladstone Entertainment Convention Centre (GECC) in July.
Gladstone Region Acting Mayor Chris Trevor said during their Gladstone visit Circa would offer a free circus beginner’s workshop.
“The troupe has kindly offered for a limited number of community members to attend a range of practical workshops and masterclasses in contemporary circus,” Councillor Trevor said.
“This is a fun chance for children, youths and adults of our region to learn circus skills from experienced professionals.”
The free circus beginner’s workshop will be open to 15 participants who have purchased a ticket to Wolfgang’s Magical Musical Circus performance at the GECC.
Participants must have a valid ticket either to a Wolfgang Magical Musical Circus public show or to the show as part of a school group.
The workshop will be held at the Playhouse Theatre at the GECC from 3.30pm on 15 July.
Activities in the workshop will enable participants to learn the basics of circus, building coordination and flexibility to deepen their appreciation of the Circa performance.
“This is a rare opportunity for residents to meet and learn from talented performers from one of Australia’s leading circus companies,” Cr Trevor said.
“This is a chance to try something different and gain an insight into circus performances while learning basic skills in a supportive and fun environment.”
Bookings for the free circus beginner’s workshop are essential and a ticket to the show must be presented at the workshop to gain entry.
Contact the GECC box office on 4972 2822 for more details or to book a ticket to the show.
