Be a superhero and save the date as Gladstone PopCon returns in 2021
The Gladstone Region’s biggest pop culture event is back and this year it has gone Hulk-sized!
Gladstone PopCon will make its highly anticipated return in 2021 after COVID-19 became the event’s kryptonite in 2020.
Set to be held on Saturday 30 October at the Gladstone Entertainment Convention Centre (GECC), this year’s PopCon will expand onto Goondoon Street and into the Gladstone City Library.
Gladstone Region Councillor Glenn Churchill said PopCon is like a smaller version of the iconic Comic Con event held annually in San Diego.
“PopCon is a celebration of all things pop culture and attracts both local and out of town attendees, providing them with a unique experience in a regional location,” Councillor Churchill said.
“It’s fantastic to have PopCon return in 2021 and I look forward to seeing what Council’s Events Team can deliver.
“There will be plenty of displays, market stalls, activities and competitions on offer for attendees throughout the day, but what I’m really looking forward to is seeing people show off their clever and creative cosplay skills.
“It’s so pleasing to see this event grow and expand every year after originally starting at the Gladstone PCYC in 2017.
“This is certainly an event that brings the community together so please bring your family and friends along to PopCon 2021.”
Please follow the Gladstone PopCon page on Facebook (www.facebook.com/GladstonePopCon) to keep up to date with activities, stalls, guests and so much more ahead of the big day on 30 October.
