Council’s School Holiday Program adds to growing list of fun Easter activities
Boredom is set to be defeated during the upcoming Easter school holidays with Gladstone Regional Council’s School Holiday Program adding to a growing list of activities on offer across the region.
The School Holiday Program, running from 2-18 April, is a collaborative program featuring events and activities across all Council facilities including Gladstone Regional Libraries, Tondoon Botanic Gardens, Gladstone Entertainment Convention Centre (GECC) and more.
Gladstone Region Mayor Matt Burnett said the School Holiday Program offers a wide variety of activities suitable for all school-aged children, with many of the events free of charge.
“From the array of activities on offer at Easter in Gladstone, to the Bluey stage show at GECC and events being held at Council facilities, children will be able to beat the boredom and explore, create and play these school holidays,” Councillor Burnett said.
“Activities at the libraries across the region include arts, crafts, mask creation, papercraft puppets, Lego, movie screenings and much more.
“Tondoon Botanic Gardens have plenty of outdoor activities on offer including a survival skills workshop, botany tour, birdfeeder making, wildlife carers workshop, bonsai workshop and more.
“Gladstone Regional Art Gallery and Museum will also have activities on offer including a scavenger hunt and a public art workshop hosted by Central Queensland artist Katrina Elliott.
“The activities on offer during Council’s School Holiday Program, coupled with 2021 Youth Week events (10-18 April), are sure to keep young people entertained during the Easter holiday break.”
All activities under Council’s School Holiday Program will operate as COVID Safe events with appropriate checklists and cleaning procedures in place.
