Gladstone Region Rise Up initiative launched to aid community groups
Gladstone Regional Council is proactively meeting the challenges the community is facing as the Novel Coronavirus health emergency develops, launching the Gladstone Region Rise Up initiative.
The Gladstone Region Rise Up initiative offers financial support to not-for-profit sport, recreation and community groups due to the ongoing COVID-19 situation.
Gladstone Region Mayor Matt Burnett said financial support offered through the Rise Up initiative would help position community groups to recover after COVID-19.
“The financial support offered in Rise Up can be accessed by eligible not-for-profit sport, recreation and community organisations to go towards costs associated with or initiatives to protect their organisation against adverse financial impacts caused by the COVID-19 health emergency,” Councillor Burnett said.
“Rise Up will offer up to $5000 per successful application and opens today, Tuesday 7 April and closes on Friday 1 May.
“Gladstone is a strong and resilient community, having weathered challenges in the past, and through the Gladstone Region Rise Up initiative, we will come together to demonstrate that strength, spirit and tenacity once again.”
