Gladstone Entertainment Convention Centre to close until further notice
To ensure the safety of employees and patrons, Gladstone Regional Council (GRC) has decided to close the Gladstone Entertainment Convention Centre (GECC) until further notice.
Gladstone Regional Council has been monitoring and responding appropriately regarding the ongoing Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) situation, with our priority being the safety of the community and our people.
This decision has not been made lightly, and we recognise the potential impacts this decision has on our community.
Council will continue to follow health advice from Queensland Health and directions from the Queensland and Australian Governments.
As a result of the closure, the Gladstone Entertainment and Convention Centre and Box Office will be closed to the public until further notice. Our Box Office team will contact all patrons who have purchased tickets to impacted shows and will process a full refund as soon as possible.
Council appreciates the community's understanding and cooperation during this time and we are working on innovative ways to ensure we can continue to engage with our audiences while we work together to manage this unpreceded situation.
Council has also made the decision to cancel all public programs until 1 June.
However, the Gladstone Regional Art Gallery & Museum, all five Gladstone Regional Libraries and Gladstone Tondoon Botanic Gardens will remain open, maintaining normal operating hours at this time.
Council has also increased its routine cleaning and sanitation schedule in all public spaces during this time.
