Council seeks community input into local Animal Management law
Gladstone Regional Council is inviting the community to have their say on changes proposed in the Animal Management (Amendment) Subordinate Local Law (No. 1) 2020.
This law would amend Subordinate Local Law No. 2 (Animal Management) 2011.
Before that amendment can be made, Council seeks to gain valuable input from the community to understand their real, perceived or potential issues relating to the changes.
A period of community engagement has launched on Council’s online Conversations platform, which outlines the purpose and potential impact of the amendment subordinate local law.
The community engagement period will close on 31 March and in addition to the Conversations platform, submissions can also be made by post, email or in person.
Gladstone Region Mayor Matt Burnett said the public are invited to have their say on the changes proposed in the Animal Management Subordinate Local Law.
“These proposed amendments will potentially impact current and future animal owners, commercial animal owners and other residents, and Council values input from the community on whether they agree or disagree with the proposed changes,”
