Gates and Grids Subordinate Local Law Amendments 2019
Gladstone Regional Council is proposing to amend Subordinate Local Laws that contains provisions related to the management of Gates and Grids within Council’s road network.
Council resolved at its General Meeting held on 15 October 2019 to propose the following amendment subordinate local laws:
- Alteration or Improvement to Local Government Controlled Areas and Roads (Amendment) Subordinate Local Law (No. 1) 2019; and
- Carrying out Works on a Road or Interfering with a Road or its Operation (Amendment) Subordinate Local Law (No. 1) 2019; and
- Local Government Controlled Areas, Facilities and Roads (Amendment) Subordinate Local Law (No. 1) 2019; and
- Subordinate Local Law (Repealing) Subordinate Local Law (No. 1) 2019.
The purpose and general effect of the amendment local laws is to repeal requirements associated with the management of gates and grids on Council’s road network. A copy of the public notice outlining specific changes is available online.
No anti-competitive provisions have been identified in the proposed subordinate local laws.

Public consultation on the above proposals has opened with consultation closing on 13 November 2019. The public consultation aims to seek input from the community to determine if the community agrees or not with the proposed changes. Submissions must be made in writing and should include grounds for the submission and any facts and circumstances relied upon. Written submissions can be lodged as below:
