Time to get snapping as Mount Larcom Photography Competition returns
Are you the Gladstone Region's next most celebrated photographer?
Then Gladstone Regional Council’s Mount Larcom Rural Transaction Centre (RTC) annual photography competition is your chance to show off your photography skills.
The competition is now open and budding photographers will have until 17 October to submit their entries before a public voting period opens from 18 October until 31 October 2021.
The winning entry will be announced on 3 November 2021. This year’s theme is ‘Mount Larcom through my eyes, with photos aiming to showcase elements of the Mount Larcom area that make it a unique and special part of the region.
Gladstone Region Councillor Natalia Muszkat said that while photographs must only be taken in Mount Larcom or surrounding districts, there was plenty of subject matter to choose from.
“Whether it’s scenery, wildlife, a person or a group of people, the Mount Larcom area has a rich history and an abundance of natural beauty to work with,” Councillor Muszkat said.
“The winning entry will receive a $150 gift card and be featured on Mount Larcom branded souvenirs that will be available for purchase from the Mount Larcom Post Office gift shop later this year.”
Mount Larcom and surrounding districts include: Aldoga, Ambrose, Bracewell, Darks Creek, East End, Machine Creek, Raglan, Targinnie and The Narrows.
Entry submissions can be made via Council’s Conversations platform until 17 October with terms and conditions available online.
Entries will be available to view and judge on the Conversations page and at the Mount Larcom RTC from 18 October until 31 October.
