To keep our community safe, full closure of these footbridges will be needed with no pedestrian bridge access from late January 2025 until about the end of June 2025. Pedestrian detours will be required around the work areas.
For cost savings and work efficiencies, the two Turtleway pedestrian bridges will be closed at the same time.
Works will be scheduled consecutively for bridge removal and replacement at the various sites with community and worker safety a priority.
Replacement of these footbridges will involve installation of new structures to provide improved community connectivity for years to come.
Council looks forward to delivering these asset improvement works and appreciates the patience and understanding of the community while these necessary pedestrian bridge replacements are undertaken.
The Turtleway Bridges Replacement project is proudly funded by the Federal Government’s Local Roads and Community Infrastructure (LRCI) Program - Phase 4.
