The Gladstone & District 4WD Club is a family orientated club which has been supporting the Gladstone and district 4WDing community since 1972. Members from our club are active in organising regular trips ranging from beginner to advanced level with everything in between!! The trip may only be for a few hours, a day trip, or a weekend camping locally to extended trips to places like Cape York!! Our trips do not always involve 4WD…it could be just a leisurely Sunday drive for a picnic lunch or perhaps you would like to go out in a boat or to the beach for a spot of fishing!! The Gladstone & District 4WD Club is a reflection of the ideas and enthusiasm of the current members at that time. This keeps the club exciting, because as new people join our club, the dynamics also change, which makes it ever evolving!! Whether you have been driving four wheel drives all your life or perhaps you have just purchased one, our club will have something to offer you!! And if you ever need a helping hand or some 4WDing advice, then our members are always willing to offer support!!

Our club has been involved in the competition side of 4WDing as we held the “Lowmead 3 Car Challenge” over a weekend during November from 2010 to 2015. November 2016 saw the “Lowmead 3 Car Challenge” administered by CQ 4WD Comps & Events Inc., an independent local organisation that maintains responsibility for the running of this event.  4WD Competition Events like this are held regularly, and our members who are involved in this side of 4WDing travel with their families all over Queensland and/or Australia to compete. 

Our members get together once a month for a General Meeting where we discuss all ideas for the club. This is the formal side where the committee can deliver relevant club information in a group setting; however formalities are kept to a minimum, with members enjoying this time to be able to catch up with one another in person. General Meetings are usually held on the 2nd Wednesday of every month except January, Members and guests are invited to meet at the Gladstone Library in Goondoon Street, starting at 7pm.  Committee Meetings are usually held on the 4th Wednesday of every month to discuss issues in detail so the Committee members can then bring decisions to the General Meeting for final approval. We are always seeking new members, so why not come along on one of our social trips and enjoy a day out with other members to help you decide if our club is for you!! HOPE TO SEE YOU SOON……
