Contractors will undertake geotechnical work near the Lord Street culvert to assist with engineering design to assist project planning for future culvert renewal work.
The existing culvert has been condition assessed and identified as being at the end of its service-life and in need of replacement.
Lord Street Culvert Renewal is a project included in Council’s 2024/25 Capital Works program. - Commencing

Geotechnical investigations near the Lord Street culvert are scheduled to occur from about 28 October to 8 November, site conditions and weather permitting.
Site investigations will involve the boring of a series of holes, approximately 75mm to 100mm in diameter, to confirm the type and structure of soil in the work area. As part of this process, moisture content will also be assessed.
What to expect
There will be vehicle movement and activity in the work area with some traffic disruption, road changes and reduction in width of road lanes.
Along Lord Street (between Hanson Rd and Pitt St) - traffic management will be in place.
Lord Street Service Road will be partially closed and restricted to local traffic only. Driveways will remain accessible. Traffic controllers will be on-site during work hours to direct those entering/exiting properties. Lord St Service Rd access will be reinstated at the end of work each day.
During works, drilling will be carried out with moderate noise likely for short durations. For safety, during some drilling, short-term lane closures will be necessary to avoid overhead powerlines in the works area.
