Extensive road resurfacing works taking place at Clinton

Gladstone Regional Council will undertake asphalt overlay and bitumen reseal works on various streets throughout Gladstone as part of its 2024/25 Capital Works program.
These extensive road resurfacing works will be scheduled in stages to minimise disruptions, beginning from 24 February at Clinton with road resurfacing planned for J Hickey Avenue, Tinaroo Court and Fairbairn Place.
Gladstone Region Mayor Matt Burnett said this project will upgrade existing road surfaces that provide access to residential, business and commercial properties.
“Work on our Stage 1 road resurfacing program will occur in sections along about 2.7km of J Hickey Avenue, in addition to side streets Tinaroo Court and Fairbairn Place, delivering more than 43,500m2 of new road surfacing and line marking for the community,” Councillor Burnett said.
“To minimise traffic disruptions, works near St John’s Primary School, on J Hickey Avenue between Gretel Drive and Aramac Drive, are planned to occur in April during the school holidays and before the Easter public holidays.”
When works occur, residents may experience some restricted access to their street. Contractors will help direct drivers entering/exiting properties.
Please drive carefully through work areas and adhere to any changed road conditions and reduced 40km/h speed limits.
J Hickey Avenue asphalt resurfacing works are proudly supported by the Australian Government’s Local Roads and Community Infrastructure (LRCI) Program - Phase 4.
Project information will be updated on Council’s website https://www.gladstone.qld.gov.au/public-notices-outages as works progress.
