Gladstone Aquatic Centre to reopen from tomorrow
Gladstone Regional Council is pleased to advise that Gladstone Aquatic Centre will reopen for community use from 7am tomorrow (Saturday 7 September).
The centre was closed to facilitate the transfer of operational management from Bluefit Pty Ltd to Gladstone South Swimming Club Inc.
This change also impacts the Mount Larcom Swimming Pool; the facility will resume its regular summer season hours from noon on Saturday 14 September.
Gladstone Region Mayor Matt Burnett said he was confident in Gladstone South Swimming Club’s ability to manage both facilities.
“Souths have demonstrated experience in operating commercial facilities and have held Trustee leases with both Council and the Department of Education,” Councillor Burnett said.
“They have a fantastic membership base and have established themselves as one of the biggest swimming clubs in Queensland.
“There are many health benefits of swimming and I look forward to Souths delivering on aquatic programs for our region.”
