Temporary closure of Aquatic Centre to allow for new operator transition
Gladstone Aquatic Centre will temporarily close next week as the facility prepares to welcome new operational management.
Due to this transition, Gladstone Aquatic Centre will close from Sunday 1 September, resuming normal (summer) hours from 7am on Saturday 7 September.
This change will also impact Mount Larcom Aquatic Centre, with the facility resuming its regular summer season hours from noon on Saturday 7 September.
Gladstone Region Mayor Matt Burnett said Council is taking the opportunity to implement a community-led approach and is working with a local swim club provider with respect to a new lease to continue delivering aquatic programs and services to the Gladstone Region.
"Members, visitors and learn-to-swim participants are reassured their memberships and programs will be honoured with the transition,” Cr Burnett said.
"Council would like to thank the team at BlueFit for the past six years of operation of its Gladstone and Mount Larcom centres and is appreciative of our partnership.”
