Gladstone Regional Council reminds community members that there is still time to apply for funding through its Community Investment Program.
Gladstone Regional Council reminds community members that there is still time to apply for funding through its Community Investment Program. Council offers several funding streams for Gladstone Region groups and organisations seeking assistance in the form of donations, sponsorship and/or grants.
Gladstone Region Mayor Matt Burnett encouraged groups and organisations across the region to take advantage of the funding opportunity.
“Council offers a number of separate funding streams, including Connected Communities Fund, Regional Enhancement Fund, Community Celebration Fund, Community Education Fund and the Regional Arts Development Fund,” Councillor Burnett said. Funding through the Connected Communities Fund includes elements such as the Community Hall Subsidy, Sport and Recreation Operations, Performing Arts, Historical and Heritage Museums and Charity Waste Tipping with applications closing 31 August 2019.
The Community Investment Program includes a Regional Enhancement Fund which focuses on building infrastructure and encouraging membership for Sport and Active Recreation, and also an Environmental Care fund, with applications closing on 31 August 2019.
Applications are open now for Destination Events under the banner of the Community Celebration Fund close 31 August 2019.
Applications for funding through the Community Education Fund regarding Regional Education Program (Educational Development) funding close 31 August 2019.
The Community Celebration Fund aims to celebrate the Gladstone Region, build community pride, boost our economy and positively promote the Gladstone Region.
Funding for an Ignite Event (up to 2,500 attendees) and Impact Event (2,500 - 5,000 attendees) both open 1 September, and funding for a Community Event opens 1 October.
The Community Education Fund recognises academic achievement and encourages the development of knowledge and skills for our future.
Council's School Engagement Subsidy provides support towards the costs of transport to enable students to connect with Council and its community facilities.
In addition, some categories under the Regional Enhancement Fund and the Community Celebration Fund are open all year round for submissions.
These included the Plant and Equipment and Development Application Fee (Regional Enhancement Fund) and the Signature Event (Community Celebration Fund).
