Council calling for Expressions of Interest to lease Calliope RSL Memorial Hall
Gladstone Regional Council is calling for Expressions of Interest (EOI) from parties interested in leasing the Calliope RSL Memorial Hall, located at 32 Stirrat Street, Calliope.
The Hall is located on State land, with Council as Land Trustee and current managers with respect to venue hire bookings and facility maintenance.
Council is inviting submissions from community organisations who may be willing to lease, manage and maintain the facility and grounds.
It is hoped that a lease will be offered to a community organisation during the second half of 2023.
The EOI period will run for four weeks from 14 June 2023, closing on 12 July, with a walkthrough of the facility and Q&A session set to take place on site, on Tuesday 27 June from 10am to 11am.
EOI submission criteria will include the following:
- Ability to provide a community service or benefit to the local area
- Ability to maintain the facility and grounds and provide improvements
- Ability of the selected lessee to facilitate venue bookings for the hall for community groups and organisations, in addition to the lessee’s primary activities
- Ability to pay agreed rental costs and outgoings – lease rental will be negotiable for a community organisation that can demonstrate community, social and economic benefits to the community and Council
- Availability/timeliness to occupy the building
- Provision of a suitable Business Plan or proposal addressing the above criteria.
