Beneficiaries set to receive significant boost after Mayor’s Ball tickets sell out
Beneficiaries for this year’s Charity Ball are set to receive a significant boost in funds after tickets to the biennial event were sold out within a matter of minutes after going on sale
this morning.
Gladstone Animal Rescue Group, Quoin Island Turtle Rehabilitation Centre and Zonta Club of Gladstone will receive an equal share of funds raised on the night via auctions, plus funds generated from ticket sales and donations from sponsors.
The 2023 Santos GLNG Mayor’s Ball will be held on Saturday 27 May at Gladstone Entertainment Convention Centre (GECC).
With the 2021 Santos GLNG Mayor’s Charity Ball raising more than $101,000, Gladstone Region Mayor Matt Burnett is hopeful that figure can be matched in 2023.
“The Mayor’s Charity Ball has collectively raised more than $493,000 for local charities to date and given the amount of interest that has already been generated ahead of this year’s Ball it would be great if we could break the $100,000 mark again,” Cr Burnett said.
“It’s very encouraging to see tickets sell out so quickly and I hope that enthusiasm carries over on the night and we see plenty of money raised for these worthy beneficiaries.
“All three beneficiaries provide a unique and invaluable service to our community, and funds raised will ensure they can continue to carry out the fantastic work that they do.”
Would you like to donate an item or voucher to be auctioned off on the night?
