Entertainment options for the whole family during summer holidays
There will be no shortage of entertainment options during the summer break with Council hosting several events suitable for the entire family.
It all starts with a bang on Saturday 31 December as Gladstone Regional Council presents its free New Year’s Eve Party at Gladstone Ports Corporation's Marina Parklands.
The party starts from 5pm and features fireworks at 8pm and midnight, live entertainment, a licensed bar, food and drink vendors and children’s activities.
Gladstone Region Mayor Matt Burnett encouraged residents to bring their family and friends and enjoy a fun and relaxing evening under the stars.
“We’ve got Triple J Unearthed band The Short Fall who will keep the crowd entertained alongside local support acts, plus plenty of tasty food options and two fireworks shows that will light up the night sky over Gladstone Harbour,” Cr Burnett said.
The always popular Festival of Summer returns from 9-13 January, offering young people aged 11 – 17 years a chance to beat the holiday boredom, get outside and make new friends.
Activities on offer include Beach Days in Agnes Water and Seventeen Seventy, along with workshops in art, music, circus, modelling, adrenaline activities and more.
The festival wraps up with a free, all-ages Beach Bash at Millennium Esplanade, Tannum Sands with food vendors, music and activities.
Another well-attended summer event is Council’s Australia Day Family Fun Day, to be held on Thursday, 26 January 2023 from 10am to 1pm at Gladstone Ports Corporation’s East Shores.
This event will offer something for the whole family, all while acknowledging our history and honouring the diverse culture in our region.
