Have a toe-tapping, knee-slapping good time at The Box Show
You’ll never look at a cardboard box the same way again after watching The Box Show, a highly entertaining theatrical production presented by Junkyard Beats and Critical Stages.
The Box Show follows four characters during their daily activities in a world made of carboard boxes and junk, with the contents of abandoned kitchens and wheelie bins becoming the greatest drum set in the world.
Gladstone Region Councillor Glenn Churchill said The Box Show will excite the imagination of children and adults alike.
“The Box Show will see ordinary household items and unwanted junk transformed into extraordinary musical instruments in exciting and surprising ways,” Councillor Churchill said.
“The audience will learn about sustainability with the high energy, imaginative music-in-education performance that combines drumming, dance, theatre and comedy.
“This is perfectly suited for families and primary school children who like music and imaginative play.
“As a drummer I know how hard keeping a beat can be, so seeing the Junkyard Beats team in action – by keeping the beat on cardboard boxes and household items – is definitely a sight and sound to behold.”
