Beat the boredom with the help of Council’s School Holiday Program
Gladstone Regional Council’s facilities have collaborated to produce a busy June-July school holiday program for the region’s young people.
For two weeks from Saturday 25 June to Sunday 10 July, indoor and outdoor locations will be buzzing with the sound of excited students on holidays.
Gladstone Region Mayor Matt Burnett said Council’s School Holiday Program is full of free events that help answer the age-old question of ‘what can the kids get up to these holidays?’.
“The School Holiday Program features events and activities across many Council facilities including Gladstone Regional Libraries, Gladstone Entertainment Convention Centre (GECC), Gladstone Regional Art Gallery & Museum (GRAGM) and Tondoon Botanic Gardens,” Councillor Burnett said.
“This program allows young people to explore the region one day, create a masterpiece or unleash their imagination in play the next, so I’d encourage parents to visit Council’s website to see what’s on offer.”
Highlights include:
- Self-guided activities at GRAGM
- Creature Craft, Fun with Chalk, Hydro Planters and a Creative Recycling Centre workshop at Tondoon Botanic Gardens
- Holiday Craft Packs, Robot Building with Cubelets, R2D2 Droid Build, School Holiday StoryTime, LEGO Build Competition, NAIDOC Week activities, Harry Potter Family Activity Night, Harry Potter Movie Night, movie days and much more across all six Gladstone Regional Libraries
- The Alphabet of Awesome Science at GECC.
