Emus and explosions headline two awesome children’s shows at GECC
Gladstone Entertainment Convention Centre (GECC) is proud to present two informative and entertaining shows designed especially for children – Edward the Emu and The Alphabet of Awesome Science.
These external productions will take place at GECC next week and next month respectively and are sure to be a hit for parents and their kids, particularly primary schoolers.
Edward the Emu is presented by the award-winning Monkey Baa team, who bring to the stage a new imagining of the classic Australian books Edward the Emu and Edwina the Emu by Sheena Knowles and Rod Clement.
This adaptation combines the plights of both emus in one heartfelt, clever and funny new tale.
A public performance of Edward the Emu will take place at 6pm on Monday 30 May, with school shows taking place at 10am and 12pm on Tuesday 31 May.
A thrilling and explosive race through the alphabet, Gladstone Region Acting Mayor Kahn Goodluck said The Alphabet of Awesome Science sees the audience join professors Lexi Con and Noel Edge (the Word Nerd and the Science Freak) for a thrilling, multi-award-winning voyage through the alphabet.
“The Alphabet of Awesome Science is a tongue-twisting race from A to Z that's equal parts explosive, messy, hilarious, fascinating and gross,” Councillor Goodluck said.
“With five-star reviews from The Adelaide Advertiser, Glam Adelaide and seedoeatreview.com, I’m sure The Alphabet of Awesome Science will be very well received by the Gladstone audience.
“So brace yourself for an hour of carefully crafted alphabetical and scientifical chaos that floats, flies, squirts, sprays, ignites and erupts.”
The Alphabet of Awesome Science will take place at 10am on Wednesday 29 June, during the June-July school holidays.
