Artists and creatives have until Saturday 2 October to submit their entries for The 46th Rio Tinto & QAL Martin Hanson Memorial Art Awards as further details are confirmed for the prestigious event.
Gladstone Regional Art Gallery and Museum (GRAGM) will call for submissions from Tuesday 28 September until Saturday 2 October allowing entrants to deliver their work.
Submissions will be accepted between 10am-4pm on Tuesday 28 September until Friday 1 October and on Saturday 2 October between 10am-1pm.
Entry sections include:
- Easel Paintings
- Works on Paper
- Three Dimensional and Fibre Works
- Digital Works.
The 46th Martin Hanson Memorial Art Awards 2021 exhibition of entries will open at GRAGM from 10am on Saturday 16 October ahead of the official launch and awards presentation at 6pm on the same day.
Gladstone Region Mayor Matt Burnett said Tracy Cooper-Lavery will judge The 46th Rio Tinto & QAL Martin Hanson Memorial Art Awards.
“Tracey is Gallery Director at HOTA (Home of the Arts) Gold Coast, which is Australia’s largest public gallery outside a capital city,” Councillor Burnett said.
“Tracey is an experienced arts museum leader with a career spanning more than 25 years including nearly five years as Gallery Director at Rockhampton Art Gallery.
“She has curated numerous exhibitions on Australian and international art and was instrumental in presenting high-profile international exhibitions at Bendigo Art Gallery before arriving in Rockhampton in 2011.
“I have no doubt Tracey will be impressed with the artistic talent on display at The 46th Rio Tinto & QAL Martin Hanson Memorial Art Awards and I know myself and the GRAGM team look forward to her arrival in Gladstone.”
